Unknown Artist: Advertisement for Lucky Strike Cigarettes (1952)
A very nice gouache head from an ad encouraging high school kids to take up smoking. Like many women’s heads from the period, her cheeks are a bit over-red. However some of this may be the printing. It’s surprising to compare different copies of the same magazine. The colors often vary considerably depending upon how the presses were performing at a given point in the print run.
